With summer — and the annual Jeep Beach event — just around the corner, Jeep has announced a new beach-themed model for the 2022 Wrangler. According to the Stellantis-owned automotive brand, the aptly named Wrangler High Tide does not only look the part but also comes with standard equipment designed for owners living the beach life.
“Along with Easter Jeep Safari in Moab each year, Jeep Beach week in Daytona Beach, Florida, is one of the largest Jeep vehicle events in the country, attracting more than 200,000 visitors and 20,000 Jeep SUVs in 2021 alone. We listen to our customers, so we are celebrating their passion for beach-ready vehicles during this multiday event with the Wrangler High Tide and Jeep Beach special editions, as well as introducing our newest high-impact, High Velocity yellow exterior color,” said Jeep Vice President and Head of Jeep North America Jim Morrison.
Based on the Sport S model, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler High Tide comes with standard equipment including LED headlamps and fog lamps, rock rails, Gorilla Glass windshield, and sand/slush mats.
An Xtreme Recon Package is available for the Wrangler High Tide which adds a set of 17-inch-by-eight-inch bead-lock-capable wheels wrapped with 35-inch BF Goodrich T/A KO2 tires, 1.5-inch factory suspension lift with uniquely tuned shocks, wheel flare extensions, as well as a hinge-gate reinforcement, jack spacer, and a tire relocation kit made by Mopar.
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler High Tide is built on the Sport S and is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, Jeep also announced that it will build the first 500 High Tide vehicles as exclusive Jeep Beach models featuring unique Jeep Beach hood decal to kick off this year’s Jeep Beach event in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The exclusive gathering attracts more than 200,000 attendees from all 50 states and 20,000 Jeep vehicles each year. The event culminates with more than 3,500 Jeep vehicles driving on the beaches for the world-famous Jeep Beach Parade. The mission of Jeep Beach is to raise funds for local and national charities, with more than US$2.5 million donated to date.
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler High Tide is now available for order in the US and will be offered in five colors: Hydro Blue, Black, Bright White, StingGray, and the all-new High Velocity. Prices start at US$49,240.
