The Nissan Hyper Force is capable of churning out 1,341 horsepowerThat said, we can’t help but wonder, did Nissan just show us the future of the GT-R?
For starters, the Nissan Hyper Force concept car boasts wide and planted proportions akin to the low and broad dimensions of the GT-R.
In addition, it wears a pixelated emblem at the front, which can easily be mistaken for the iconic “GT-R” badge. Plus, it sports the same two-light round taillamps donned by the “Godzilla” of sports cars.
And if that’s not enough, Nissan revealed that the Hyper Force actually has two driving modes aptly named “GT” (grand touring) and “R” (racing).
Per Nissan, the Hyper Force has a graphical user interface that changes color and display according to the chosen mode (GT or R) and is designed to instantly display the most needed information for the driver in line with the driving circumstances.
These graphics — the Japanese carmaker pointed out — are the result of a collaboration with Polyphony Digital Incorporated.
For the uninitiated, the said company is a Sony-owned video game development brand that’s behind the famous Gran Turismo franchise: a game that appears to have strong ties with Nissan and has featured the GT-R in the cover of the “Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” for the PlayStation 3.
Hunches and hopes aside, the Nissan Hyper Force packs a high-output all-electric powertrain that can put out as much as 1,341 horses. It is also fitted with the brand’s e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology, which aids in cornering and handling on circuits as well as winding roads.
Other notable features include an all-solid-state battery, light-weight body featuring high-strength carbon, an aerodynamically-designed body, a newly developed plasma actuator, futuristic-looking wheels, upward-opening doors, carbon fiber seats, and an array of Light Detection and Ranging sensors tuned for sports driving.
The Nissan Hyper Force is just one of the five “Hyper” concept cars currently being showcased at the ongoing 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
“All five concept cars showcased today are symbols of the future and embody our founding spirit of ‘daring to do what others don’t’. We have advanced our EV innovations, moving beyond mobility to create a more sustainable world. The EVs symbolize our future of creating a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world for everybody without compromising on passions and dreams. Through the power of innovation, Nissan is creating a future where everyone can enjoy the excitement of mobility,” Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Makoto Uchida noted.
Will the said concept car become the successor of the GT-R in the future? Our guess is as good as yours.
