KEY TAKEAWAYS
What powers the Mazda Iconic SP?
The Mazda Iconic SP is powered by the brand's two-rotor rotary-EV (electric vehicle) system. What color does the Mazda Iconic SP come in?
The Mazda Iconic SP comes in a Voila Red color.According to the Japanese carmaker, the Mazda Iconic SP is “a new genre of compact sports car concept that is suited to the new era and responds to the feelings of customers who love cars and want a car that is genuinely fun.”
Under its hood is Mazda’s two-rotor rotary-EV (electric vehicle) system, which can burn a variety of fuels, including hydrogen. It is paired with an on-board battery — which when charged with electricity derived from renewable energy — will allow its owners to enjoy 100-percent carbon-neutral mobility.
The abovementioned two-rotor rotary-EV system can generate a maximum power output of approximately 365 horses, which alongside the Mazda Iconic SP’s low center of gravity and 50:50 weight distribution, provide excellent maneuverability.
Mirroring its exciting driving capabilities is its Voila Red finish, based on Mazda’s desire to “cherish the color red” and its aim to “expand the circle of people who live positively today.”
“Mazda will continue to work to deliver cars that make people feel, beyond reason, that cars are fun and good. As a company for car lovers that mass-produces the excitement of moving experiences. Together with like-minded companies, we want to create a future where many people, including fans, can say, ‘I love cars.’ With this strong will, Mazda will continue to expand the circle of people who live positively today,” said Mazda Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer Masahiro Moro.
