Junior Pinoy racer makes history with invite to join 2021 FIM CEV-Repsol Moto2 Category
After being crowned the overall victor for the 2019 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) UB150, McKinley Kyle Paz has made it to the history books again as he is set race at the 2021 FIM CEV-Repsol Moto2 Category.
Another first for the country and for the young racer, the path that Paz is taking will hopefully keep him on course for the MotoGP championships.
For this event, Paz will be competing at the racetracks of Spain and Portugal under the VR46 Mastercamp Team.
“It has been a long road for Yamaha’s Paz, who began racing at a young age, but his tremendous potential allowed him to win championships in multiple competitions. After dominating (the local circuit) he truly stamped his class as a top-rate rider with his victory in the Asia Road Racing Championship as the first Filipino to be named champion in his category,” Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) shared in its statement.
The local distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in the country noted that Paz is also the first Filipino to be invited to the highly exclusive VR46 Master Camp.
“The continued rise of Paz is a testament to the unwavering dedication of Yamaha Motor Philippines in developing riders in the Philippines. It is important for the company that Filipino riders are given the opportunity to be great and showcase their talent at home and abroad; to show that their aspirations for excellence in any competition can be realized. Yamaha offers only the top-performing machines for every Filipino which will serve as their vessel toward victory. But the pursuit does not stop there because Yamaha will keep innovating and advancing their machines,” YMPH noted, adding that Paz continues “to stay ready and eager to achieve victory in his next conquest” even with the threat of the pandemic.
Further, YMPH shared that Paz’ latest campaign will start on June 13 in Barcelona-Catalonia, Catalonia, Spain.
