‘Karding’ public infra damage reaches P135-M
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that the estimated partial cost of damage to public infrastructures that Typhoon “Karding” (international name “Noru”) left is at P135.09 million.

The DPWH said that Region 3 had the biggest worth of damage to infrastructure at P91.38 million.As of Wednesday, the public works department said that the initial assessment covers P34.71 million worth of damage to roads, P22.39 million on bridges, and P77.99 million on flood control structures.
By location, the DPWH said that Region 3 had the biggest worth of damage to infrastructure at P91.38 million, followed by the Cordillera Administrative Region with P19.6 million. The estimated infrastructure damage in Region 6 is at P12 million, in Region 2, P9.11 million, while in Region 4-B, P3 million.
Relatedly, the DPWH said that five national road sections are still closed to vehicular traffic namely:
- Kennon Road in Benguet, closed to non-residents for safety reasons;
- Cabagan-Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge in Isabela due to flooding;
- Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, Diteki River Detour Road due to flooding;
- Baliwag Candaba - Sta.Ana Road K0068+800-K0069+150 Brgy. San Agustin, Candaba, Pampanga due to flooding; and the
- Hamtic-Bia-an-Egaña-Sibalom Road, Egaña Bridge K0094+603 - K0094+640 in Brgy. Egaña-Buhang, Sibalom, Antique due to collapsed steel bridge.
