Kia and Total extend collaboration to 2026
Kia Corporation and Total Lubricants have entered into a five-year Global Cooperation Agreement, in which the two companies will conduct projects and marketing activities that aim to "improve customer satisfaction and service competitiveness."
The agreement will also provide Total "with the chance to engineer new solutions for the constantly evolving requirements of electric and hybrid engines,” said Total Automotive Vice President Jean Parizot.
Kia's extended agreement with the motor lubricant company will run through 2026 and also marks the third extension of the partnership.
Kia reiterated Total's statement, and said the partnership will "new focus on clean energy and carbon reduction in proactive response to market changes." The partnership will help in Kia's brand transformation and electrification strategy called the "Plan S," the Korean carmaker added.
“We are proud to continue with this partnership that began 10 years ago,” Parizot added. “This partnership, built around innovation and technology, has enabled us to develop perfectly customized products with Kia that meet the needs of customers."
"During the last 10 years we have built a very successful partnership for both Total and Kia, achieving remarkable growth and high levels of customer satisfaction," said Kia Vice President and Head of Ownership Customer Experience Design Martinez Pablo.
Kia added that further "cooperative projects will also be discussed, including the areas of electric vehicles and future mobility." The agreement also included Kia’s continued recommendation to use Total lubricants across its global aftermarket network.
Total Lubricants said it is the fourth largest company of motor oils, and an important sponsor in Formula One, World Rally Championship (WRC), Moto GP, Endurance, and Rally Raid race series. Total's signing ceremony with Kia was held online at Kia headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
