After four years since the nameplate has been introduced in the country, Kia Philippines Motor Corporation has launched the latest iteration of the Seltos nameplate. The spruced-up five-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) was released locally following its global debut in mid-2022.
Wearing substantial upgrades, the nameplate’s refreshed version is offered with a sportier look — eyed to meet the demands of customers that are always on the go.
The new Kia Seltos major upgrade starts with its more prominent tiger nose grille, which complements the neatly laid-out illumination system (either on halogen or LED, depending on the trim). Meanwhile, the back portion looks highly similar to the design concept at the front — with both ends sporting satin-finished skid plates.
Further, the vehicle’s newly-launched version sits on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 tires.
Inside, the SUV is fitted with a multi-function digital display (either 4.2- or 10.25-inch liquid crystal display), seats that are covered in cloth or leather, and an infotainment system (eight- or 10.25-inch touchscreen in size) with Android Auto, wireless Apple Carplay, and Bluetooth connectivity mated to a six-speaker layout.
The mid- and top-of-the-line trims come with an electronic parking brake system, and controls for cruise control, audio, and Bluetooth hands-free system on the steering wheel.
In addition, the top-tier offering features a wireless charging dock and push-start system as well as leather trimmings on the tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel and gear-shift levers.
Additionally, the new Kia Seltos has two powertrain options: the 1.5-liter, in-line four-cylinder, double overhead cam Smartstream engine mated to an intelligent variable transmission (for the base trim); and the 1.4-liter turbocharged mill matched to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox (middle and crème dela crème options).
A myriad of advanced features can also be found on the new Kia Seltos such as the smart cruise control with stop-and-go feature, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist — among others.
Like other models that the company retails, the new Kia Seltos is packaged with a five-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance.
Available in Snow White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Pluton Blue, and Snow White Pearl with Black roof, the new Kia Seltos is offered at the following prices:
