Kia Philippines announced that the internationally-acclaimed Carnival racks up its latest set of accolades at the recently-concluded 2022-2023 edition of the Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards (AFMCA).
In a statement, the Ayala-backed automotive brand shared that the aforementioned model — dubbed as the “Grand Utility Vehicle” — took the awards for Best Design, Best Engine Performance and Best Safety Features in the Standard MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) category.
The seven-seater model, which was introduced early last year, offers a thoughtful design, technological innovations, and safety.
On the outside, the Kia Carnival features futuristic lines that run along the body for a sculpted appearance; “island roof” design; eye-catching C-pillar; and a diamond pattern that overall showcases what the designers call “symphonic architecture.”
Aside from that, the Kia Carnival is fitted with a power tailgate and power sliding doors, power-adjusted second-row seats with ottoman leg rests, automated sliding sunroof, as well as audio system that is compatible with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Safety features of the Kia Carnival include forward collision avoidance assist and rear cross traffic alert; lane following assist; lane keeping assist; blind spot detection; parking distance warning; and a rear view camera.
In April 2022, the Kia Carnival recently got the top honors for the “Transportation” category at the 2021 Good Design Awards.
First introduced in 2008, the AFMCA is an annual event wherein a select group of top Philippine automotive media practitioners vote and choose the vehicles that stand out in their respective categories.
The distinct purpose of the program is to further recognize the auto industry's non-stop efforts to provide car buyers and owners with the best on-board features, styling, performance and overall value in four categories: Best Design, Best Engine Performance, Best Safety Features, and Best Value for Money.
