Kia continues to receive recognitions from various award-giving bodies — the latest, due to the all-new Carnival.
In the 2021 Good Design Awards, the all-new Kia Carnival (as well as the EV6) recently got the top honors for the “Transportation” category.
Head of Kia Design Center Karim Habib said that securing the Good Design awards "is an endorsement of the approach" that the company took with the styling of the Kia EV6 and Kia Carnival.
“We are determined to ensure Kia keeps challenging the boundaries of automotive design,” he added.
One of the oldest design competitions in the world, Good Design Awards recognizes innovators and products that push the boundaries of design, function, and sustainability.
Aside from that, the US version of the Kia Carnival won the Top Safety Pick Award in the Minivan category from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The vehicle got the award for its superior crash avoidance and mitigation systems.
A globally-respected organization, the IIHS champions road safety through intense research and stringent evaluation.
Further, the all-new Kia Carnival also received accolades from AutoGuide, AutoTrader, and Newsweek Autos Awards.
“From the beginning, we have anchored ourselves on the brand’s reliability,” Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada was quoted as saying. “These recent acknowledgments just boosted our motivation to inspire the automotive market and up the game in terms of giving the market what they truly deserve,” he added.
The latest version of the Kia Carnival — touted as the Grand Utility Vehicle for its sport-utility-vehicle like design and offerings — was introduced to the Philippine market last February 17.
Offered in three colors namely Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl and the Astra Blue, the all-new Kia Carnival is being sold in two variants at the following prices:
Earlier, Aligada told Carmudi Philippines that the Ayala-backed distributor is targeting to deliver 400 examples of the people-carrier offering for the whole 2022. The target is said to reflect a 60-percent growth rate compared to last year.
Powering the vehicle is the new SmartStream 2.2-liter diesel power mill that is paired to an eight-speed automatic slushbox.
