Kia EV9 breaks cover

Following last week’s teaser, Kia finally dropped the drapes off for its flagship electric vehicle (EV) — the EV9.

At the fore, the Kia EV9 wears what the Korean carmaker calls the “Digital Tiger Face,” highlighted by the new “Digital Pattern Lighting Grille” and a pair of striking vertical headlamps.

The abovementioned “Digital Tiger Face” front fascia also features two clusters of small cube lamps as well as the innovative “Star Map LED daytime running lights.”

Like its front end, the side profile of the Kia EV9 is very minimal in terms of design. Notable appointments include its flush door handles, its body-colored side mirrors, and — although the size is yet to be disclosed — its large wheels.

At the rear are slim taillights that mirror the design of those at the front, as well as a tailgate with clean and simple lines.

Inside, the Kia EV9 boasts a roomy cabin. That said, the carmaker was able to fit lounge-style seats on all three rows. Further, the second-row seats can be swiveled up to 180 degrees allowing occupants to seamlessly interact with each other.

And when they’re not socializing, the Kia EV9 can provide onboard entertainment with its two 12.3-inch touch screens and one five-inch segment display.

The Kia EV9’s extended high-definition audio, visual, navigation, and telematics (AVNT) screen creates a rich and immersive experience for its occupants. Underneath the AVNT screen is an array of hidden-type touch buttons for things like heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control.

The recently held unveiling of the Kia EV9 only showcased its exterior and interior design. A more detailed specification is expected to be disclosed during its global debut later this month.
