Kia has sold 10-M vehicles in the US

Kia’s US arm celebrates the sale of its 10-millionth unit, marking the brand’s continued expansion in the country. Kia America is now one of the fastest OEMs to reach the sales milestone in the US, proving the company’s commercial success.

The 10-millionth vehicle is a Runway Red all-electric EV6. It was purchased by Monti Charoenphong at Car Pros Kia Moreno Valley in Moreno Valley, California.

“We have been a ‘Kia Family’ for many years, but once we saw the EV6, there was no question this would be our next car. The day we took delivery was already very exciting, but to learn that we were also Kia’s 10-millionth customer in the US was unbelievable and confirmed our love of this company and to electrified driving,” said Charoenphong.

Together with the owner of the 10-millionth Kia sold in America, the brand will commemorate this momentous milestone through multiple acts of giving including US$10,000 donations to non-profit organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association, and Freedom Service Dogs of America.

To thank our customers for their support, Kia wants to give back in meaningful ways by helping those in need. We hope the positive impact of these donations will resonate for years to come,” said Kia North America and Kia America President and CEO Sean Yoon.

The South Korean car company started selling vehicles in the US in 1993 and has become a successful brand in the automotive industry. The marque was acquired by Hyundai later in 1998.

Since Kia’s arrival in the US market, the brand has grown from offering just two models to a wide range of world-class vehicles designed to meet the needs of practically every driver on the road. Kia looks to become a leader in sustainable mobility with plans for a fully-electrified lineup in the country by 2040 starting with the all-electric EV6.
