The Kia K2500 is one of the more popular light commercial vehicles (LCV) on the market today, thanks to its wide range of configurations and its affordable price point.

Outside, the Kia K2500 sports the typical commercial vehicle setup: halogen headlamps, rear combination lamps, body-colored front bumpers, manual-folding side and rear-view mirrors, as well as door-mounted turn signals.

The cabin features an analog instrument panel with a matching polyurethane steering wheel, polyurethane shift knob, and manual A/C.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Helping the Kia K2500 carry heavy loads is a torsion bar spring suspension setup at the front and a multi-leaf spring system at the rear.

The Kia K2500 is offered in eight variants with prices ranging from P973,000 to P1,280,000.

The K2500 has long held the fort for Kia against some of the segment’s mainstays like the Hyundai H-100 and the Mitsubishi L300. However, there are other contenders that could appeal to other LCV buyers. Here are a few.

Isuzu Traviz

The Isuzu Traviz, like the K2500, can also be had in various body configurations. However, the front end of the LCV remains the same; you get halogen headlamps, body-colored bumpers, rear combination lamps, and 14-inch steelies.

Inside the Isuzu Travis is an instrument panel with two analog meters and a digital screen, a built-in entertainment system. The steering wheel and gear shifters are polyurethane and the air-conditioning is manual.

The Isuzu Traviz is powered by a 2.5-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Supporting the Isuzu Travis is a double-wishbone with coil spring setup at the front and semi-elliptical leaf spring suspensions at the rear.

Isuzu’s entry to the local commercial vehicle segment is offered in two variants: the S (short wheelbase) and the L (long wheelbase). They are priced at P962,000 and P992,000, respectively.

Maxus V80 Flex

The Maxus V80 Flex is another great option for those looking for a viable business partner. Outside, it offers similar features to the aforementioned haulers: a pair of halogen headlamps, a set of rear fog lamps, but this time, owners will get a passenger-side sliding door and a rear dual swing-out door.

Inside the Maxus V80 Flex features a centrally-mounted instrument panel and infotainment system.

Under the hood is a 2.5-liter engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Suspension-wise, you get MacPhersons at the front and rear independent parallel leaf spring setup at the rear.

The Maxus V80 Flex is offered only in a single variant and is priced at P1,190,000.
