Shortly after announcing that it will be adopting the latest brand direction, Kia Philippines introduced the fourth-generation of its sport utility vehicle (SUV) offering Sorento.
During the virtual brand launch, Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada described the all-new Sorento as “an expression of success, achievement, purpose.”
“Made for the gentleman who knows what he wants and where he’s going, and is not afraid to move toward that goal, to discover where inspiration will lead him,” Aligada shared during the virtual roundtable.
Aside from donning the latest logo design, the latest version of the nameplate wears sharper lines, compared to its predecessor which complements the signature Tiger Nose grille design — depicting the “refined boldness” layout.
Size-wise, it has grown across all aspects: now 30mm longer, 20mm wider and 5mm taller with an additional 35mm wheelbase compared to the outgoing model.
The all-new Kia Sorento is powered in SmartStream 2.2 VGT CRDi engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission on 4x2 drive option. The powertrain enables the vehicle to deliver up to 199hp and 441 Nm of torque.
Standard amenities include the eight-inch touchscreen audio (that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible) mated to a six-speaker system, electric second row backrest folding, smart entry and push start, dual-zone automatic climate control and power tailgate. Aside from that, the crème de la crème variety exclusively offers power seats with driver memory, front seat cooling and heating, heated steering wheel, 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and wireless mobile phone charger.
Further, the seven-seater SUV vehicle also provides more than a handful of safety features that includes Blind Spot View Monitor, 360 Degree Surround View Camera, Rear Cross and Forward Collision Assist, and Lane Keep Assist—exclusively available for the top variant.
Available in Snow White Pearl, Silky Silver and Aurora Black Pearl, the all-new Kia Sorento is offered in two variants at the following prices:
Just like all Kia models, the all-new Sorento comes with a five-year/160,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) and is packaged with the 24/7 Roadside Assistance for a worry-free ownership experience.
The all-new Kia Sorento 4x2 SX 8DCT variant will be available starting the fourth week of November while the 4x2 EX 8DCT will be in showrooms by January 2022.
