After several teasers were released, Kia Philippines has finally introduced to the country the fourth-generation Carnival.
The release of the all-new Carnival came after neighboring country Thailand released the latest version of the minivan late last year.
As shared by the Ayala-backed distributor, the all-new Kia Carnival has transformed into a vehicle suited for executives and their families who are looking for a premium and versatile ride.
Touted as a Grand Utility Vehicle, the all-new Kia Carnival has the design and comforts of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and “reflects the new brand identity.”
"As the guiding principle in designing the Kia Carnival as a top-of-the-line vehicle for executives and family leisure, the all-new Carnival offers ample headroom, spacious and welcoming seats. All constructed with elegant materials to indulge you. Most importantly, it accommodates every individual occupant comfortably," Kia Asia Pacific Coordinating Director of Product Planning Simon Kang said.
On the outside, the all-new Kia Carnival sports a more aggressive look with its chunkier stance and sharper lines and edges compared to its predecessor. It also wears the “island roof” supported by a C-pillar design.
The top-of-the-line trim has dual headlamps, tail lights, fog lamps and LED daytime running lights, and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels (the entry-level rides on 18-inch wheels).
Inside the cabin are comfortable seats for seven occupants. The top variant offers electronically adjustable seats for both driver and the front passenger with a memory function for the driver side while the second row is fitted with captain chairs that have cooling and heating functions.
Sunshade blinds and three-zone automatic climate control air-conditioning system are packaged as standard.
The all-new Kia Carnival has an eight-inch touchscreen audio system with voice control accessibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It is also equipped with USB ports and a wireless charging dock (available for the upper variety).
Powering the newest vehicle offering is a new SmartStream 2.2-liter common rail direct inject diesel engine and matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes with Drive Mode Select and electronic parking brake for a more relaxed driving experience.
Further, the crème-de-la-crème option of the all-new Kia Carnival is equipped with Kia Drive Wise (a sub-brand dedicated to innovating intelligent safety features with the use of autonomous driving and assistive capabilities) suite of safety technologies such as the forward collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep and following assist (which adjusts the steering wheel automatically) as well as collision-avoidance system.
Additional features such as auto-dimming interior mirror, front and rear parking sensors, rear camera with dynamic guidelines, blind spot warning, cruise control, and seven airbags come as standard.
“The all-new Carnival delivers first-class treatment worthy of a VIP,” Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada said. “Each key feature of the latest model supports his daily drive towards his avenues of inspiration. Moments of style that express his exclusive taste. Moments of innovation that empower his drive to seek more. Moments of comfort and convenience that fulfill his luxurious standard of living. And, moments of safety to represent his reliable nature.”
Retailed in three colors namely Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl and the Astra Blue, the all-new Kia Carnival is being sold at the following prices:
