The long wait for the
unraveling of the "fourth box" this year is finally over as the Ayala-led Kia Philippines has revealed the latest crossover in their lineup:
Kia Seltos.
During the event,
Kia Motors Asia-Pacific president Ted Lee noted that the newly-brought Seltos was
coined from Greek God Celtos, son of Hercules.
"This is the last Wow that Kia promised to introduce to the market this year, but this is also not the end of the story. To achieve our brand premise 'The Power to Surprise', I promise that good surprises will go on next year," Lee said in his speech.
The Kia Seltos is powered by a
2.0 liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine mated to a Intelligent Variable Transmission (CVT to other brands) that can deliver of 147 horsepower and 179Nm torque. The turbocharged version (1.6 engine) available in other countries, capable of providing higher figures, was not made available locally.
CARMUDI PHILIPPINES already reported the pricing as well as the coming in of the all-new Seltos, which
revealed a P50,000 discount on the three models for those who want to get first dibs on the Korean crossover.
The price starts at
P1.098 million for the base variant LX, followed by the EX at
P1.198 million and the top-of-the-line SX for
P1. 498 million until launch date (November 6).
Kia Philippines President
Manny Aligada announced during the official launch the good news that the
Php50,000 discount has been extended until end of November.
Further, the Kia Seltos is available in solid
Starbright Yellow, Gravity Gray, Dark Ocean Blue, Mars Orange and
Iron Grey as well as
two-tone Cherry Black-Clear White and
Cherry Black-Starbright Yellow.
