Kia Philippines is set to launch the Kia Seltos subcompact crossover on November 6, which is more than three weeks away, yet it has shared the prices of its three variants online on social media today--a departure from the usual practice of most, if not all, car brands to keep the prices of their products close to their chests until launch day.
Posted on Kia Philippines' Facebook page at 7 PM today, the Seltos has three variants--the entry-level LX, the midrange EX, and the range-topping SX--priced at PHP1.098 million, PHP1.198 million, and PHP1.498 million, respectively.
We've checked with a few dealers and apparently, their sales professionals have already been hawking the Seltos complete with the prices so it has apparently been out already since the week started, with a PHP50,000 discount being given to those who reserve for a unit until its November 6 launch.
From what we've gathered, the Seltos will be powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four Atkinson Cycle engine--the same kind of internal-combustion engine found in a Toyota Prius hybrid--paired to an "Intelligent Variable Transmission," which is basically Kia's term for a continuously variable transmission.
Inside, the Seltos will get an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that's compatible with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a rear-view camera, split 60:40 rear seats that can fold fully flat to increase the cargo area, and--depending on the variant--Smart Entry with Push-Star button, LED daytime running lamps, Cruise Control, and six airbags.
We'll post more information about the Philippine-market Kia Seltos once we get it. If not, wait for our coverage of the launch on November 6.
