Kia Philippines will start competing in the electric vehicle (EV) arena soon as it will unveil the all-new EV6 at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
The upcoming all-new Kia EV6 will be the AC Motors’ initial entry in the growing EV segment in the country, making them one of the first automotive distributors in the country to offer electrified mobility options in the market.
During the biennial motor show (slated September 15-18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City), Kia Philippines will highlight the forthcoming model alongside its vehicle roster as well as “meaningful technology, engineering, and innovations that will inspire customers.”
“We are poised to let our show-goers witness our cutting-edge lineup,” Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada was quoted as saying.
“We also want to open a window to the future and share with the Filipino public our vision of what to expect from Kia in the coming years. We will do this by offering an immersion into the charging ecosystem of our Kia EV6 electric vehicle, to demonstrate that it is packed with surprises and is more than just a car,” he added.
To recall, the Kia EV6 made its global debut last year and has received numerous accolades ever since. “For the first time, Filipinos can experience what makes this marvel of automotive technology so special,” Kia Philippines said.
Kia Philippines has yet to share the specification of the soon-to-be-introduced EV6. Based on earlier reports, the Kia EV6 has two motor layouts (a rear-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive) and a pair of battery varieties (58 and 77.4 kilowatt hours [kWh>).
In terms of safety, the all-new Kia EV6 already earned a five-star rating from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).
Aside from the vehicle displays, Aligada said that Kia Philippines booth visitors will get to experience the company’s interactive digital art display that is in line with the brand's “Movement that Inspires” tagline.
The South Korean marque’s local arm said that its Interactive Motion Wall is a digital art installation that is triggered by motion sensors. “Artistic interpretations of land, ocean, and air will be distilled into their essence and translated into digital animation masterpieces that will evoke inspiration through their sense of movement. Visitors are encouraged to step inside the Kia area to activate the interactive display and be inspired by this uniquely creative digital art form,” Kia Philippines explained.
While the Kia EV6 will take the center stage, its siblings namely the Sorento midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV), Carnival grand utility vehicle, Soluto subcompact sedan, and the Stonic Style Edition subcompact crossover will be providing more flair in the booth.
Further, Kia customers who will be attending PIMS 2022 can enjoy a special promotion wherein customers can save up to P171,000 worth of waived chattel mortgage fees and insurance premiums for the first year of the loan, courtesy of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).
“We invite everyone to drop by the Kia display at PIMS 2022,” Aligada invited. “Be part of the movement that inspires, and join Kia on a journey toward a greener and more sustainable future.”
