Kia unveils latest logo, strategy
Korean automaker Kia released its latest corporate logo that symbolizes their latest brand purpose and transformation.
In its statement, the newest logo design “represents Kia’s ambitions to establish a leadership position in the future mobility industry by revamping nearly all facets of its business.”
Resembling a handwritten signature, the continuous line of the logo—as Kia explained— conveys their commitment to “bringing moments of inspiration, while its symmetry demonstrates confidence.” Aside from that, the rising gestures signify the brand’s rising ambitions and, what it offers to customers.
Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song noted that the company’s new logo shows their latest direction in business.
“Kia’s new logo represents the company’s commitment to becoming an icon for change and innovation. The automotive industry is experiencing a period of rapid transformation, and Kia is proactively shaping and adapting to these changes. Our new logo represents our desire to inspire customers as their mobility needs evolve, and for our employees to rise to the challenges we face in a fast-changing industry,” the Kia executive expounded.
Unveiled at the pyrotechnic display in Incheon, the unveiling of the newest logo also paved way to a new Guinness World Record for ‘Most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launching fireworks simultaneously’ after 303 pyrodrones launched hundreds of fireworks in a synchronized artistic display. The video footage of the display can be seen here.
Aside from that, Kia also revealed their new brand slogan “Movement that inspires.” The details for it, which covers brand purpose and philosophy, will be shared on January 15, 9AM (8AM in the Philippines) through its ‘New Kia Brand Showcase’ that can be viewed via their Youtube channel.
The introduction of the new logo follows the announcement of Kia’s ‘Plan S’ long-term business strategy in 2020. Based on this business strategy, the Korean three-letter badge is eyeing to get a leading position in the global car market. Such tactic is focused on popularizing electric vehicles and introducing a broad range of mobility services tailored to meet the needs and tastes of individuals and local markets.
