Kids Can Design Their Own Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is giving a new generation of aspiring designers a chance to bring their automotive dreams to life. The ‘Young Designer Competition is calling all aspiring "kiddie" designers up to the age of 16 to create and design their own unique vision of what Rolls-Royce cars would look like in the future.
Launched as a welcome reprieve during the Coronavirus outbreak, the competition will allow these young designers to use their creativity freely, even while confined inside their homes.
Rolls-Royce, which is known for its extraordinary vehicles and highly-customized designs, is giving young designers a chance to create their own luxury car without limits. Anything is possible here—artists can draw inspiration from embroidered textures to unusual paints and contoured textures, to even exotic materials, art deco designs, and unique installations.
This competition is an annual celebration held during Rolls Royce employees' Family Day celebration. Held at the Home of Rolls Royce in Goodwood, England, the company is opening the competition worldwide.
The company's goal is to " stimulate design talent; inspire greatness; and provide a welcome distraction from self-isolation and social-distancing measures being adopted by many countries around the globe."
Rolls-Royce's Design team will select the winner, and award them with a chauffeur-driven journey in a Rolls-Royce Phantom for their first day back to school, with their best friend. The winner will also receive a rendered illustration of their design.
Meanwhile, runners up will get a hand-signed certificate from the Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars: Torsten Müller-Ötvös.
Rolls-Royce will also award one lucky UK entrant with two additional prizes: travel to school in a chauffer-driven Rolls-Royce after the Coronavirus quarantine has ended. The winner will also get a new Greenpower electric car kit that will be donated to his or her school. This will allow them to participate in the Greenpower Challenge—UK's number one motorsport competition for schools across Britain.
