Kymco to release world’s first compact scooter with independent swing arm
Kymco, a Taiwanese motorcycle brand, claims to have released the world’s first compact scooter that features an independent swing arm.
Compact scooters have been one of the most predominant forms of personal transportation in many countries for being agile, efficient, convenient, and easy to use. Adding an independent swing arm into the small scoot gives the KRV 1801 TCS unrivaled sport riding capability.
According to Kymco, the independent swing arm allows for a lower center of gravity and creates a perfect weight balance to the small scoot. Kymco adds that it also provides high stride quality and maximum cornering capability.
To stand out from a market chockfull of good choices, Kymco offers a scooter touted as a cross between a city scoot and a conventional motorbike.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS will be powered by a newly developed 175cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled motor engine. Combined with the aforementioned swing arm, the peppy engine, as Kymco says, “provides the exceptional sport riding experiences unseen on compact scooters.”
Other features of Kymco’s new compact scooter include ABS, traction control system (TCS), LED lighting, and a keyless system.
In addition, the suspension system of the Kymco KRV 180i TCS has been tuned to suit both a single rider and when carrying a passenger. It rides on 13-inch alloy wheels.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS was officially introduced at the brand’s “Kymco Renew Your Vision” digital event which took place in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
“Taiwan Kymco has been established for 57 years, a professional motorcycle manufacturer. Even COVID-19 has been raging globally, and we still invest heavily in developing new products to satisfy our customers,” said Kymco Philippines Inc. Chairman Manny Chang.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS comes with a sticker price of P189,900.
