Laguna Lake Highway Connecting Bicutan to Taytay Now Open

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that the 6.94-km Laguna Lake Highway, which is formerly C-6, is now completed. The said highway is serves as an alternate route to avoid the traffic congestion along EDSA and C-5.

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar led the ceremonial drive-through of the Laguna Lake Highway. This new highway connects the eastern part of Metro Manila and the towns of Rizal Province. The completion and the opening of the said highway is also in time for the Christmas rush.

Villar added that the Laguna Lake Highway will "cut travel time" from Bicutan to Taytay and vice versa to just "30 minutes or less." It features a four-lane divided highway with a two meter-wide planting strips and drainage. It also has a three meter-wide bike lane and 1.5 meter-wide sidewalk.

"We are happy to announce that this toll-free road will be able to cut travel time from Bicutan to Taytay and vice versa from an hour to just 30 minutes or less," Villar said. Villar added that the PHP1.28 billion Laguna Lake Highway is the first national expressway with bicycle lanes.
