Lamborghini bares Revuelto ‘HPEV’
In line with the brand’s hybridization phase, Lamborghini has finally unveiled its first high-performance electrified vehicle (HPEV) — the Revuelto.

What was the codename for the Lamborghini Revuelto?
The Lamborghini Revuelto was codenamed LB744.How much power does the Lamborghini Revuelto make?
The Lamborghini Revuelto makes 1,001 horsepower.Previously known by its codename “LB744,” the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Italian carmaker explained, is powered by an entirely new combustion engine together with three electric motors, alongside a double-clutch gearbox, that makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time.
“The new Revuelto is a milestone in the history of Lamborghini, and an important pillar in our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy. It is a unique and innovative car but at the same time faithful to our DNA: the V12 is an iconic symbol of our super sports heritage and history. Revuelto was born to break the mold, combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology, creating the perfect balance between delivering the emotion that our clients want with the necessity to reduce emissions,” commented Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann.
Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 mid-mounted engine paired with three electric motors: two of which are placed at the front axle while the third one is integrated into the new double-clutch eight-speed gearbox.
This setup makes 1,001 horsepower (hp) and 725 Newton meters of almost instantaneous torque.
According to Lamborghini, the new L545 engine is the lightest and most powerful 6.5-liter, 12-cylinder powerplant made by the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based brand. It weighs only 218 kilograms and puts out 813 horses of the combined 1,001hp generated by the electrified powertrain.
The two electric motors at the front are powered by a lightweight high-power lithium-ion battery housed within the transmission tunnel in the central section of the chassis. It has an overall capacity of 3.8 kilowatt-hours.
It can be charged using both ordinary domestic alternating and charging column current, which juices up the battery in just half an hour. It can also be recharged under regenerative braking from the front wheels or directly from the V12 engine in just six minutes.
Making their debut — alongside the new hybrid system — are three new drive modes: Recharge, Hybrid, and Performance. The three, according to the automotive firm, will be combined with the Città (City), Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes. Together, they can provide would-be owners with 13 dynamic driving settings selectable via two rotors located on the redesigned steering wheel.
“With Revuelto we take the experience of driving a Lamborghini to a superior level. Revuelto takes a significant step forward in terms of reactivity and responsiveness to ensure the most emotive and natural driving in every environment. Revuelto is a car delivering the highest performance but our objective right from the start was to confirm it at the very summit of driving emotions,” stated Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr.
The Lamborghini Revuelto’s power and dynamic performance are reflected in its exterior design.
At the front is a broad monolithic carbon-fiber hood flanked by headlamp clusters with Y-shape daytime running lights framed by aerodynamic blades.
To its side are wheel arches with fins, air intakes, vertically-opening scissor doors, and a setup of either 20- and 21-inch wheels or 21- and 22-inch wheels (front and rear) wrapped in bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires.
The rear of the Lamborghini Revuelto features its virtually-exposed engine, double hexagonal exhaust pipes, a geometrically profiled wing, and taillamp clusters with Y-shape light signatures.
“The Revuelto is adrenaline made visible. The design of the new Lamborghini Revuelto opens a fascinating door toward the future of our unique design language. From first sight, Revuelto is an intriguing next-generation Lamborghini V12, with all lines embracing the monocoque and celebrating a free view towards the V12 HPEV powertrain,” said Lamborghini Head of Design Mitja Borkert.
Inside, the Lamborghini Revuelto flaunts a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an accompanying 9.1-inch display. The former is placed behind the steering wheel while the latter is positioned in front of the passenger’s seat.
Lamborghini explained that the smaller, passenger seat-mounted display also shows the same information as the main instrument cluster in front of the driver.
Acting as the HPEV’s infotainment system is an 8.4-inch vertical touchscreen display.
The Lamborghini Revuelto connected infotainment system can evolve over time. With the integrated over-the-air software update system, the vehicle will be offered updates to provide further content. The improved system supports the functionality update of not only the infotainment display but also the instrument panel and passenger display.
While Lamborghini has disclosed important details about the Revuelto, production, availability, and pricing, are yet to be announced.
