Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder Released Ahead of 2019 Geneva Motor Show

When your car is as good-looking as the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder convertible, then we understand why the luxury carmaker had to reveal it way ahead of its debut this week at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

According to CNET.com the 3,400 pounds convertible now has an upgraded 5.2-liter V10 engine that can juice out 640 hp and 599 Nm of torque. It can accelerate at 0-100 kph in 3.1 seconds--similar to the top speed of the Peregrine Falcon, the fastest creature in the animal kingdom. 

And while this bird of prey is common in North America, the drop-top Huracán Evo Spyder is quite a rare breed--it's the only convertible that was made following Lambhorgini's famed 'fighting bull' V-12 supercar, the Aventador. That was around three years ago.

New and Improved Features

So what are the changes? The newest Evo Spyder now has bigger air intakes, a newly face-lifted front fascia, and a brand new Verde Selvans green paint that turns heads everywhere. It has an updated chassis, and has better handling capability, thanks to its upgraded software that controls traction and stability, all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, and adaptive dampers. It also sports a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Now with more than five times the downforce and efficiency of the original Huracán Spyder,  it blends the excitement and thrill of open-air driving with the Huracán EVO's progressive technology.

According to Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini:

"The Huracán EVO Spyder incorporates all the performance, next-generation vehicle control and aerodynamic features of the EVO coupé, with its own unique personality and a driving excitement that only an open-top car can offer."

He also added: "The Spyder continues the Huracán EVO's evolutionary charge: extremely easy to drive while excelling as a highly responsive, fun super sports car. Particularly with the roof open, the emotive sound of the naturally aspirated engine and the refined, lightweight exhaust system take the sensory experience to a new level. The Huracán EVO Spyder's design, performance and exhilarating open-air drive experience is literally breath-taking."

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder is priced at USD287,400--or a whopping PHP14.9 million.
