Car guys often think of brands like Jeep or Land Rover when they hear the word “adventure” Large, rugged, and purpose-built models that have been designed and engineered to be the “go-anywhere” kind. But what if you also want a “go-fast” vehicle that’s also comfortable, sleek, and luxurious?
Well, maybe you could use an Urus.
To prove just that, Lamborghini has concluded a program of new events under the banner “Esperienza Avventura.” According to the Italian automotive brand, Esperienza Avventura, which translates to Adventure Experience, is created for customers who are most eager to enjoy unexpected and remarkable experiences. The concept, adds Lamborghini, comes from the desire to combine the usability and beauty of the Urus super SUV with the most adventurous and authentic environments.
Over the course of a month, around 50 customers and guests coming from Europe and the Middle East had the chance to appreciate the versatility of the Urus Super SUV. Participants of the adventure event enjoyed daily stages of about 300 kilometers, crossing some of the most iconic locations on the southern Icelandic coast, allowing them to relish a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the pursuit of adventure.
Some of the places they visited included the Geldingadalir Valley on the Reykjanes Peninsula, the Kvernufoss waterfall, the Katla Glacier, and the Jokursarlon Glacier Lagoon.
The route took the Lamborghini Urus to various terrains and diverse weather conditions. Despite it all, the Urus braved the challenges ahead and guaranteed the convoy easy city driving and a dynamic experience when driving off the beaten path.
Participants of the almost-month-long adventure run made the most of the Lamborghini Urus’ V8 twin-turbo engine with 650 horsepower and 850Nm of maximum torque at 2250rpm, which proved to be particularly beneficial on the more challenging off-road sections.
“It was extraordinary to see so many Urus all together in a setting like Iceland, with so many different routes and road surfaces in which to put them to the test. Unlock Any Road, the positioning concept that customers recognize in the Urus, was expressed here more than ever: not only because of the different landscapes the cars drove across and the decidedly adventurous feel of the event, but also because of the multiple Ad Personam configurations offered on board the car, where the almost unlimited offering of colors and customizations become a reflection of the Urus owner’s personality,” said Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann.
