Despite the hardships last year, Land Rover reached its latest milestone with the roll out of the one millionth sale of the Range Rover Sport.
The landmark achieved by the European vehicle manufacturer was attained in December, with the occasion being marked with a commemorative film highlighting some of the famous breakthroughs the SUV has encountered over its 15 years in production.
A year before the official reveal in the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Range Rover Sport concept ‘Range Stormer’ was revealed.
In March 2013, the second-generation Range Rover Sport was introduced (with the assistance of actor Daniel Craig) and in June the same year, it set a new Hill Climb record for a production SUV at Pikes Peak in the United States. It was not long after (November 2013) when the Range Rover Sport clocked the fastest time to drive 800 kilometers across the Empty Quarter Desert, Saudi Arabia.
It was on August 2014 when the Range Rover Sport SVR was revealed and in October 2017, Land Rover dropped the drapes for the Range Rover Sport PHEV. This version of Range Rover Sport was the first vehicle to Climb Heaven’s Gate Staircase, China in February 2018.
In 2020, the Range Rover Sport offering was enhanced with new Ingenium six-cylinder diesel engines with mild hybrid technology, new special edition models, as well as the previously launched P400e PHEV powertrain, providing customers with greater choice than ever.
In the Philippines, the Range Rover Sport PHEV is offered at P8,888,888 until February 28 for its Chinese New Year Promo. On regular price, the aforementioned offering is retailed at P9.49 million.
