Land Rover has launched the latest Range Rover, which is developed to “define modern luxury by design, providing more refinement, customer choice and scope for personalization than ever before.”
Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer Thierry Bolloré described the newest Range Rover as the “superb manifestation of (the brand's) vision to create the world’s most desirable luxury vehicles for the most discerning of customers.”
Bolloré said, “It writes the next chapter in the unique story of pioneering innovation that has been a Range Rover hallmark for more than 50 years.”
The fifth-generation Range Rover shows the European premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) marque’s modernist design philosophy to the next level with a contemporary interpretation of its trademark profile to create an incredible design statement.
“It is possible to respect your DNA and still project forwards — and that is what we have done. The modernist nature of our design philosophy doesn’t follow fashion or trend. It’s free from superfluous detail, resulting in a form which speaks to modernity, yet is full of charm and delivers new levels of emotional engagement. The new Range Rover is quite simply the most desirable ever created,” Jaguar Land Rover Chief Creative Officer Professor Gerry McGovern shared.
The all-new 2022 Range Rover will be produced exclusively at Land Rover’s Solihull Manufacturing Facility — the historic home of Range Rover — in a new state-of-the-art production line.
For his part, Coventry Motors Corporation (local JLR distributor) President Chris Ward expressed pride over the introduction of the new Range Rover.
“The new Range Rover is the most desirable Range Rover ever made and will continue to be the must-have luxury SUV globally. We are thrilled to bring the new Range Rover into the Philippine market to serve our clients with the most sophisticated of taste. Another exciting development for Range Rover, a vehicle that represents ultimate luxury and class, as it advances into the future as a luxury EV by 2024. We will be able to share more information about this astonishing vehicle in the next coming days,” Ward said.
Further, the new Range Rover is the first model to use Land Rover’s new flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex). This design can accommodate internal combustion, plug-in hybrid, and 100-percent electric powertrains.
The MLA-Flex also represents the next step in Land Rover’s simplified architecture strategy as part of the move to deliver greater powertrain flexibility and set new quality benchmarks.
The new Range Rover is offered with a variety of powertrains: plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrains namely (P440e and P510e), the mild-hybrid (MHEV) offerings (P360 and P400 Ingenium gasoline as well as the D250, D300 and D350 diesel engines) and the new flagship power mill (P530 Twin Turbo V8).
“It is available with a choice of efficient mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains and four, five or seven-seat interiors across Standard and Long Wheelbase body designs. A pure-electric Range Rover — the first all-electric Land Rover — will join the line-up in 2024,” Land Rover noted in a statement.
Moreover, the new Range Rover is equipped with a Cabin Air Purification Pro which combines dual-nanoe X technology for allergen reduction and pathogen removal along with carbon dioxide management as well as PM2.5 cabin air filters for enhanced air quality.
