According to reports, the cause of the fire was due to issues with the car’s electrical connection.
Thankfully, the lawmaker was not hurt as he was quickly assisted by the local fire department, police, traffic enforcers, and security guards stationed in the nearby shopping mall.
“I’d like to give my utmost thanks and praise to the Bureau of Fire Protection-Mandaluyong, the PNP (Philippine National Police), MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) traffic enforcers, and to the security guards of SM Light Mall in Mandaluyong who came to my aid. They were all very swift and efficient. I salute these public servants who came to assist without hesitation. I will be working closely with them to determine what could have caused the fire,” Revilla wrote in an Instagram post.
