Lewis Hamilton Ranks 10th Highest Paid Athlete this Decade
Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver who is famous for racing in Formula One for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport.
At just 34 years old, Hamilton has won six Formula One World Championships, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula One racing, and some even consider him to be the best of all time.

Hamilton won his first title with McLaren back in 2008, back when he was just 24 years old.
After five years, he moved to Mercedes-AMG, which may have been a high risk move for him back then, but has since paid off well as he has won five more titles since 2013.
He is one of the most successful drivers in the history of the sport, bagging a total of 84 race victories and 151 podium finishes. His six World Championship title total is the second most of all time, second only to Michael Schumacher’s 7 titles.
As of the end of this decade, Lewis Hamilton has become the highest paid driver in the history of Formula One. According to Forbes, Hamilton has an average annual income of about $55 million.
His net worth? Hamilton has an estimated $489 million.
For comparison, Michael Schumacher has amassed a total of $464 million between 1994 and 2004, with his estimated annual salary “peaking” at $38 million.

Aside from racing, Hamilton also boasts a wide array of sponsorships and modeling contracts.
Forbes.com named him as the “most marketable driver in the sport.” As someone who cares deeply about fashion, Hamilton is currently sponsored by fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, promoting their line of menswear, underwear, and swimwear, Police sunglasses, and Puma. Hamilton is also the brand ambassador for L'Oréal’s Men Expert Range.

Forbes ranked Hamilton’s total earnings over the decade at $400 million, earning him the tenth spot in the top paid athletes of the decade list.
Just $25 million above Hamilton is NBA player Kevin Durant, and $10 million further Philippines' very own fighting senator, Manny Pacquiao.
Forbes’ top earning athlete is Floyd Mayweather, with a whopping $915 million.
