Lexus teases TX SUV

Lexus has teased its latest sport utility vehicle (SUV) offering, the TX.

Word on the web says that the Lexus TX is the brand’s own take on the Toyota Grand Highlander, but since the carmaker is still yet to reveal details about its upcoming SUV, we are still not sure how much the two nameplates have in common.

Should this be true, what we know is that the United States-market Toyota Grand Highlander is currently offered in three powertrain options: a 2.4-liter turbocharged gasoline-fed engine, a fuel-efficient 2.5-liter hybrid, and a performance-oriented Hybrid Max powerplant that according to Toyota generates 362 horsepower.

Additionally, the face of the Toyota Grand Highlander is akin to the styling of many of Toyota’s local offerings including the Philippine-market Raize, Veloz, and Avanza. It also rides on 20-inch wheels.

Knowing Lexus, the luxury marque could be slapping its own suite of opulent appointments on the TX, including the company’s iconic spindle grille.

The reports might be true as the Toyota Grand Highlander offers Lexus a generous cabin, which means that the Toyota-owned brand will have plenty of room to play with in terms of outfitting the SUV with luxurious amenities.

To recall, the Toyota Grand Highlander is touted as an SUV with adult-friendly third-row space.

More details are expected to be released soon as Lexus officially unveils the TX.
