Limited-edition ‘22 Dodge Durango will celebrate Mopar’s 85th year
Stellantis-owned OEM accessory brand Mopar will be launching limited-edition Dodge Durango models to celebrate its upcoming 85th anniversary.
The all-American SUV will come with unique, quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories from the Mopar Custom Shop. Customers looking to get a glimpse of the Mopar ’22 Dodge Durango can check out the souped-up SUV in the Mopar booth at the ongoing SEMA Show.
“Our new, limited-edition Mopar ‘22 Durango features exclusive Mopar performance parts and accessories. Unlike any other aftermarket offerings, our performance parts and accessories are jointly developed and quality tested with the product engineering team and they are backed by the factory,” said Mopar North America Service, Parts and Customer Care Vice President Mark Bosanac.
Outside, the beefy SUV packs a Mopar Blue “Mopar” front grille badge, Mopar Blue Brembo-branded brake calipers, and an offset asymmetrical Mopar Blue stripe that runs on the driver’s side from the front fascia to the rear fascia.
It will ride on standard 20-by-10-inch Lights Out wheels paired with Pirelli tires.
Inside are leather and suede front seats with a two-tone Mopar logo embroidered into the seatbacks, Mopar Blue accent stitching in seats, instrument panel, center console and doors, a Mopar pedal kit, Mopar all-weather floor mats, and a Mopar ‘22 instrument-panel badge with serialized build number.
Powering the limited-edition SUV will be the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine mated to an eight-speed tranny and puts out 360 horses.
Performance is further improved thanks to the added Tow N Go Package with Track, Sport, Snow, and Tow drive modes. The Mopar ‘22 is also equipped with a retuned SRT-performance exhaust, retuned SRT active noise cancellation, Performance Pages, electronic limited-slip differential, and SRT active damping suspension.
Mopar also installed a one-inch lowering kit to help with handling, cornering, and response.
According to Stellantis, the limited-edition ‘22 Dodge Durango will arrive in 2022 in conjunction with the 85th anniversary of Mopar. Only 250 units will be assembled — 200 for the United States and 50 for Canada, with a choice of two exterior colors: White Knuckle or DB Black.
Each buyer will receive a Mopar ’22 owner kit that features a custom-made, personalized metal certificate of authenticity with a serialized vehicle-build number and a special rendering of the vehicle by the Mopar Design team.
The limited-edition Mopar ‘22 Dodge Durango is expected to hit dealerships in both the U.S. and Canada from June to August next year. While the actual price of the 2022 Dodge Durango is yet to be announced, Stellantis shares that the Mopar package will add US$3,995 to the price of the Durango.
