About a week ago, Legado Motors Inc. (LMI) conducted its first virtual roundtable with the motoring media. During the online program, LMI Product Director Brennan Lim revealed that the updated version of the GS8 would be arriving by next year.
However, a source shared that the latest iteration of the flagship model is already displayed at the GAC Motor dealership in Pasig. Does this mean that the local distributor of Guangzhou Automotive Company (GAC) is ready to offer the model?
As shared to Carmudi Philippines, the distinguishing features of the new GAC GS8 are the redesigned chrome trims below where the fog lamps are fitted.
Should this be available for retail already, the new GS8 overtakes the launch of the bullet-proof version for the current model and the second-generation GS4 and a GN8 Master’s Edition.
Earlier, we reported that the new GAC GS8 will be powered by a 2.0-liter TDI engine that can deliver 252hp and 390Nm of torque. This third-generation powertrain, which is mated to six-speed automatic transmission, has increased power 25 percent and pulling power by 22 percent compared to its predecessor.
Aside from the new GS8, LMI is also targeting to launch an electrified vehicle offering come the third quarter of next year.
