Lotus Emeya to reach PH market this month

Lotus Cars Manila shall bring to the Philippines the Emeya nameplate a year after its inception on the global stage.

The Autohub Group-led company sent an invite to Carmudi Philippines, stating that the arriving model — to serve as the brand’s second electric vehicle (EV) offering — shall be locally unveiled on September 16. It will coincide with the opening of the brand’s dealership.

While waiting for Lotus Cars Manila to share the four-door electric hyper GT’s full details, check out some of the initial information regarding the upcoming vehicle.

The Lotus Emeya is outfitted with an active front grille, rear diffuser and rear spoiler that complements its “hyperstance” (low center of gravity). Occupants can also enjoy its electronically-controlled air suspension system.

Tailored on the vehicle’s upholstery is the new luxury thread made from repurposed fibers from the fashion industry — as well as PVD aluminum, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU.

Inside, the Lotus Emeya is equipped with a KEF audio system that comes with Uni-Q speaker design and Uni-Core subwoofer enclosure, as well as Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D surround sound (first seen in the Lotus Eletre).

Powering the Lotus Emeya are two electric motors (full-time all-wheel drive with Lotus ICC Intelligent Torque Distribution). Such a powertrain set-up can provide up to 905 horses, and 985 Newton-meters of torque (depending on the trim available in the market).

With the aforementioned mill, the vehicle can go 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in under 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of beyond 250 kph.

Sending energy to motors is the 102-kilowatt-hour battery.
