Lotus shares details of all-new Emira V6 First Edition
In a recent press release, Lotus has shared the details of its all-new mid-engine premium sports car.
According to the British automaker, the all-new Emira V6 First Edition will come with a host of desirable technology, infotainment and comfort features, plus a unique badging.
“The Emira is the most accomplished Lotus we've ever made, and to celebrate and reward our keenest early customers, we want to make the first cars extra special to own. The features have been carefully selected by our design team to make for a truly special and distinct First Edition,” said Lotus Cars Managing Director Matt Windle.
Outside, the all-new sports car features complete LED lighting, a titanium exhaust finisher, heated power-fold door mirrors, and rear parking sensors. It also comes standard with the Lower Black Pack which adds gloss black front bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser.
The first-edition Emira will ride on 20-inch wheels made from an ultra-lightweight forged alloy.
It can be had in six color options which include Seneca Blue, Magma Red, Hethel Yellow, Dark Verdant, Shadow Grey, and Nimbus Grey. More colors will be made available by 2022, said the company.
Inside, owners can also choose from a host of color options such as red, black, gray, and tan Nappa leather, as well as black Alcantara with either red, yellow, or grey stitching. The cabin is also finished with satin chrome trims, white interior mood lighting, and Lotus-branded sill kick plates.
Taking center stage is a 10.25-inch infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite navigation. There’s also a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster past the multi-function steering wheel.
Under the bonnet of the British sports car is a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and can produce 400 horses. An optional six-speed automatic with paddle shifters is also available.
It can go from standstill to 60mph in 4.3 seconds; the speed peaks at 180mph.
The all-new Emira V6 First Edition will be forest released in the European market where it will be priced at £75,995.
In Germany, Lotus said that the Emira will have a sticker price of €95,995. Plans of releasing the Emira in the USA and China have been mentioned although the actual release date and pricing in these markets are yet to be disclosed.
Production is said to begin in March next year with an entry-level version of the Emira to be made available by 2023.
