Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), announced the temporary closure of its Central Office as well as its National Capital Region (NCR) branches during the extended Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

In a social media update posted by the LTFRB, the aforementioned offices are said to be closed to the public starting today (April 5) until Friday (April 9), following the announcement of the extension of the ECQ for Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

The ECQ extension was announced on Friday, April 3, with the approval of President Rodrigo Duterte. The aforementioned quarantine extension was recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and backed by OCTA Research, the group tracking the country’s COVID-19 cases.

Under the extended ECQ, operations of businesses and select government offices will be restricted to prevent unnecessary public movement.

On the said social media advisory, the LTFRB said, “Bagamat magkakaron pa rin ng (skeleton) workforce ang LTFRB, ipinagbibigay alam ng ahensya na walang magiging transaksyon para sa publiko ang mga opisina sa mga nasabing araw ng Abril. (Although the LTFRB will operate under a skeleton workforce, no public transactions will be conducted in these offices during the said dates)”.

Although with limited manpower, the agency will keep its lines open for any concerns. Included are avenues to accommodate questions like the LTFRB 24/7 (1342) hotline and their email (pacd@ltfrb.gov.ph). Transactions can be processed through LTFRB’s Public Transport Online Processing System (PTOPS).

Last year, LTFRB also closed its offices to make way for disinfection activities after several of its employees tested positive for COVID-19. The temporary closure of its Central Office in Quezon City, as well as its NCR branches, is carried out for the safety of both its employees and the public during the pandemic.
