LTFRB nabs 20 modern PUV units for overloading
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has apprehended 20 modern public utility vehicles (PUV) in Metro Manila for overloading.

In a social media post, the Board also said that members of its Law Enforcements Unit (LEU) conducted the operations yesterday (February 2).
The aforementioned number of units were caught during two separate operations in Quezon City and Caloocan City.
According to the LTFRB, the modern PUV units that were nabbed have been slapped with a P5,000-fine for violating Memorandum Circular 2011-004 of the Joint Administrative Order 2014-01.
“Ako po ay muling nananawagan sa mga driver at operator ng mga pampasaherong sasakyan na sumunod na lamang po tayo sa batas upang maiwasan po na kayo ay maabala ng husto at maging ng mga pasaherong sakay ninyo (I am once again calling on the drivers and operators of passenger vehicles to obey the law so that you and your passengers would not experience inconvenience),” LTFRB Chairman Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III was quoted as saying.
“Prayoridad po natin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa, mahalaga ang makarating kayo sa inyong destinasyon ng maayos at pabalik sa inyong pamilya na ligtas (Our priority is everyone’s safety; it is important that you arrive at your destination and return to your family safely),” he added.
