LTO slaps 90-day suspension on license of suspect involved viral ‘road rage’ video
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued a 90-day preventive suspension on the driver’s license of the driver involved in a road rage incident that recently went viral over social media.

“Ang ipinataw nating preventive suspension ay isang mabilis na aksyon mula sa inyong LTO upang matiyak na hindi na niya uulitin ang nangyaring pananakit at paglabas ng baril sa isang bicycle rider (The preventive suspension we have imposed is the LTO’s quick action to ensure that he will not repeat the incident of assaulting and pulling out a gun on a bicycle rider),” Mendoza said.
Mendoza said that while his lack of manners is obvious in the viral video, Gonzales must still undergo the proper legal process.
The LTO chief also noted that the agency has the power to suspend the suspect’s license under Section 27 of Republic Act 4136 (commonly known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code) on grave offenses similar to where Gonzales was involved.
Moreover, Mendoza also said that the LTO has issued a show-cause order on Gonzales and is ordered to bring his sworn statement on why he should not be slapped with the following charges: Disregarding Traffic Sign (under Joint Administrative Order 2014-01); Obstruction of Traffic, Reckless Driving, and Improper Person to Operate a Vehicle.
He is ordered to be at the LTO Office on August 31, 2023.
