LTO speeds up license plates production
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) revealed that owners of new motor vehicles will only have to wait 10 days for their license plates.
Additionally, the agency said that number plates will be readily available for new motorcycles.
“‘Pag bumili ka ng kotse ngayon, in 10 days nandiyan na ‘yung plaka mo, ‘pag bumili ka ng motorsiklo ngayon, nandiyan na kaagad ‘yung plaka mo (if you buy a car today, your license plate will be there in 10 days, if you buy a motorcycle now, your license plate will be there immediately), LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Attorney Vigor Mendoza II was quoted saying.
Mendoza recently conducted an inspection on the plate-making plant and confirmed that the facility would be in full production so that the issue of having backlogs will never happen again.
“They started with five equipment, I think by now there are eight machines working, they will reach 32,000 plates production a day. We will announce very soon, within the week upon DOTr (Department of Transportation) approval that we can already accommodate,” Mendoza noted.
