LTO said that more than a thousand brand-new motorcycles covered in the policy were registered on the first day.In a statement, the agency said that it has implemented Memorandum Circular No. JMT-2023-2395 yesterday (May 15). Per LTO, more than a thousand brand-new motorcycles that are covered in the aforementioned policy were registered through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).
LTO Chief Jose Arturo Tugade highlighted that the new program is meant to simplify and enhance the convenience of transactions with them.
"Using the LTMS for the registration of these brand-new motorcycles demonstrates how both the agency and the public benefit from the digitalization of LTO's frontline services. We must maintain this momentum and expand it to make services for the public easier, simpler, and more convenient," Tugade noted.
Earlier, Tugade previously said that the LTO is convinced of the roadworthiness of brand-new motorcycles with engine displacement of 200cc and below, which validates the issuance of an initial three-year registration validity.
Prior to the execution of the policy, only brand-new motorcycles with engine displacement of 201cc and above were eligible to get the initial three-year registration validity.
