Mahindra unveils all-new Scorpio-N

The price for the recently-unveiled model is at INR 11.99 lakh (around P839,000 if converted into Philippine peso).Dubbed as the “Big Daddy of SUVs,” the automaker said that the newly-unveiled model is “designed, engineered, and built to disrupt the SUV segment with its class-leading attributes, features and capabilities.”
Simultaneous to its launch in its home country, the Mahindra also unveiled the all-new Scorpio-N in South Africa and Nepal.
The company said that the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N has no carryover components from the existing Scorpio. “This allows the All-New Scorpio-N to elevate existing segment benchmarks across all critical parameters: performance, capabilities, technology, sophistication, ride and handling, NVH, interiors and appearance,” Mahindra noted in a statement.
Mahindra also said that the vehicle was designed at Pininfarina, Italy and Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS), Mumbai, engineered by the teams at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) near Chennai and Mahindra North American Technical Center (MNATC) in USA, and manufactured at Chakan, Pune.
During the launch, the Indian marque’s automotive division President Veejay Nakra said that the model was created to be a game-changer.
“With its unmissable design, sophisticated ride and handling, thrilling performance, advanced technology, reassuring safety and of course, its terrain-conquering abilities, the all-new Scorpio-N takes forward the unbeatable Mahindra legacy of building authentic, desirable and tough yet sophisticated SUVs,” he said.
“The all-new Scorpio-N disrupts existing product category hierarchies and will be a force to reckon with across multiple SUV segments,” Nakra added.
The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N has two powertrain options: the TGDi mStallion (gasoline) engine that can deliver 197 horses and a 380Nm of torque, and the mHawk (diesel) power mill that is capable of providing 173hp and 400Nm torque. The vehicle, which is built on the new third-generation body-on-frame platform, comes in both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and 4x4 as option. The four-wheel-drive trim is equipped with the 4xplor terrain management system.
On the outside, the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N features more muscular wheel arches, a metallic Scorpio tail element integrated into the beltline and a tall, stacked tail lamp design. Mahindra said that the latest offering will be retailed in five hues: Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, and Grand Canyon.
On the inside, the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N welcomes passengers with rich coffee-black leatherette upholstery, a center console encased in robust metal finished dual rails, and an advanced infotainment system.
Further, the SUV is fitted with an eight-inch infotainment system powered by AdrenoX intelligence (which combines more than 70 apps including Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto) and paired to a 3D immersive Sony sound system.
Aside from that, the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N is the first SUV model around the world to offer what3words integrated with Alexa Voice Command, the vehicle.
Aside from the abovementioned apps, Mahindra has partnered with Qualcomm, Visteon, Blackberry QNX, Bosch, Sony and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver the connected SUV experience.
The price of the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N starts at INR 11.99 lakh, which is around P839,000 if converted into Philippine peso.
