Mark Zuckerberg's Cars Will Definitely Surprise You
We all know Mark Zuckerberg as that nerdy-cool guy who wears the same shirt on most days (to save time). Still, what he's really known for is Facebook--something that made him a billionaire many times over.
So with all that cash practically beckoning for hedonistic disposal, you probably assume that he splurges on expensive, luxury items like sports vehicles or super cars, right? You got it wrong--well, mostly wrong (and you'll know the reason at the end of this article).
Whatever the case, this guy likes to be modest. He dresses modestly, eats modestly, and even works modestly. But what he lacks for flashy things, he more than makes up for quality--and that includes the cars he own. They include the following:
Acura TSX
Acura, which is Honda’s luxury brand, has created the Acura TSX as a medium-sized entry-level luxury car. It's badge engineered from the CL-series Accord, and has won numerous awards, such as the following:
- Best Upscale Small Car for Families in 2011, according to US News and World Report
- “Most Ideal Car” by AutoPacific in 2012
- “Good Bet” by Consumer Reports in 2007
- “Best Resale Value Car” in 2006 by CNN
- Top Value Car (Sedan under $35,000) from SmartMoney.com
Volkswagen Golf
Like the Acura TSX, this small family car has also won many awards throughout history, and one of the most prestigious is the World Car of the Year in 2009. This award isn't to be taken lightly, since winners here are selected by a jury of 82 international automotive journalists from 24 countries.
Honda Fit/Jazz
Another small family car, who would ever guess that someone with a present net worth of around USD66.4 billion (or PHP3.5 quadrillion) owns a car that's priced at around USD16,000 USD (over PHP800,000) in the market today?
Don’t get us wrong--the Honda Fit is a good car. We’ve given it a lot of praises for its spaciousness and excellent fuel efficiency. Still, Mark choosing it over the others is mind boggling, to say the least.
Infiniti G Sedan
Infiniti belongs under Nissan's luxury division, and its G Sedan (which really is a bit of underrated in the automotive world), is one of those cars that it developed. Its final production was in 2015, and then took on the name Q40 afterwards.
The G sedan has earned many awards over the years such as:
- Consumer Reports First Place: Top 10 Cars (upscale sedan category) for 2007 and 2008
- CAR Magazine: Rated One of the Top 10 Best Handling Cars in the World
- Car and Driver "10 Best Cars" list: 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2009
- Nominated for the 2003 North American Car of the Year
- Motor Trend 2003 Car of the Year
- IGN Best of 2006 Awards: Best Japanese Car
Pagani Huayra
We’ve gotten so used to Mark’s "less flashy" vehicles that it took us a long time to digest the fact that he actually owns a supercar. And guess what? It's worth over USD1.4 million (or around PHP73 million).
This car goes head-to-head with Aston Martin and Ferrari, so its status as a super car is well-deserved.
