Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition Makes Big Splash at Geneva Motor Show
Italian supercar manufacturer Maserati has unveiled the Trofeo Launch Edition of the Maserati Levante at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The luxury SUV makes its way to the Swiss show after its initial announcement at last year's LA Motor Show.
The Launch Edition of the crossover, which will have a limited production run of 100 units, offers carbon fiber inserts on the bumper, hood, and side skirts. The 22-inch Orione wheels come in either matte or glossy black finish, paired with either silver, blue, yellow or red brake calipers.
Maserati imbued the Launch Edition with a new drive mode--Corsa--which further improves throttle response by increasing the exhaust opening and slackening off the traction control systems.
As for engine options, the Levante Trofeo only carries one--a 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 from Ferrari mated to an eight-speed ZF transmission that runs 592 hp and 730 Nm. Power is delivered to the wheels via an all-wheel-drive system.
Inside, the Trofeo's surfaces are wrapped in a unique leather called Pieno Fiore. A 17-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system also comes standard.
At the Geneva event, the Levante Trofeo V8 premiered alongside the entire MY19 Range in the GranLusso and GranSport trims. Pelletessuta, an exclusive new interior material made by Ermenegildo Zegna especially for Maserati, has also been introduced. Finally, the brand's sporty DNA is in full showcase via the GranTurismo Maserati Corse appearing in Grigio Lava Matte-colored exterior and carbon fiber interiors.
