The Maserati is equipped with a V6 Nettuno engine. What are the safety features found in the Maserati MC20 Cielo?
The safety features include parking sensors, rearview camera and blind spot monitoring, along with autonomous emergency brake, traffic sign information and a new 360-degree camera. In a statement, the Italian automaker said that the MC20 Cielo is “a one-of-a-kind car that can deliver the performance of a true super sports car, together with a holistic and immersive driving pleasure."
Maserati explained that the MC20 Cielo stands for the following:
- MC: Maserati Corse (Racing)
- 20: refers to 2020, the year that began the brand’s new era
- Cielo: (sky) to highlight that the model “is devoted to driving pleasure in the great outdoors, while maintaining all the prerogatives of the coupe.”
The convertible version — which is powered by a V6 Nettuno engine — is 65 kilograms heavier than its coupe counterpart. The vehicle is engineered with a carbon fiber chassis (which will be seen in all three configurations namely the coupe, spider and the future electric version).
The newly introduced model is fitted with a retractable glass roof — a unique feature in the segment. The state-of-the-art electrochromic (smart glass) window can instantly be transformed from clear to opaque at the touch of a button on the central screen, courtesy of Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology. It is considered as best-in-class in terms of thermal insulation and of opening and closing speed (12 seconds).
Further, the MC20 Cielo comes with butterfly doors and a carbon fiber cockpit.
Moreover, the launch version features Acquamarina, a new three-layer metallic color available in the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program. The base is a pastel grey inspired by racing in line with the MC20’s sporty DNA, accompanied by an iridescent aquamarine mica “that enlivens the hue and makes it exceptional.”
Furthermore, the Maserati MC20 Cielo’s in-car entertainment includes the optional High Premium Sonus faber audio system that can be managed from the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, and from Maserati Connect.
The latest member of the Maserati lineup comes with active safety features such as parking sensors, rear-view camera and blind spot monitoring, along with autonomous emergency brake, traffic sign information and a new 360-degree camera.
