Maxus Philippines fired the opening salvo this year for the whole AC Motors automotive division with the introduction of the D60 compact SUV.
Via virtual launch, the Ayala-backed British-bred marque expanded their lineup to five with the latest offering, following last year’s reveal of the G50 MPV.
The Maxus D60 is powered by a four-cylinder inline 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Such pairing dishes a maximum of more than 166 horsepower and 250 Nm torque.
Its exterior comes from the stylish Maxus Tarantula Concept to express its bold, active, and dynamic urban persona to match young professionals and growing families. Such design matches Maxus octagonal front grille, accentuated by the Elite variant’s cobweb grille pattern and matrix-style full LED headlights and streamer tail lights. Giving it the tall stance is the 18-inch alloy wheels.
Coming in in two variants, the Maxus D60 comes in two seating capacity options: five-seater for the 1.5T Pro and seven-seater for the 1.5T Elite.
Comfort and relaxation is offered to all occupants on both varieties as they have rear air condition vents and eight-inch infotainment system. The D60 Elite offers the additional convenience of keyless entry and push start, leather seats, and power folding side mirrors.
For its safety features, the Maxus D60 has a host of active and passive safety systems, ESP (electronic stabilization program), EPB (electronic parking brake) with auto hold, cruise control, front dual and side airbags, reverse camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, rear park distance control (PDC), and an additional front PDC for the Elite variant. Further, the D60 has been employed with a Double Layer Welding Technology for added overall strength and quality of its exterior structure.
Available in Competitive Orange and Polar Ash (exclusive to the Elite), Metal Black and Wace Red (exclusive to the Pro), and Warm Argent and Warm White (available for both variants), the pricing for the Maxus D60 starts at P1.148 million for the 1.5T Pro while the 1.5T Elite is pegged at P1.258 million.
