The Maxus T60 is a relatively newer player in the competitive pickup truck segment. It has attracted many car buyers because of its robust-looking exterior and reasonable price tag.

Outside, the base variant of the Maxus T60 offers halogen headlamps, front and rear fog lamps, an electric outside rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers, and a rear window defogger.

Inside are fabric seats, a seven-inch infotainment screen, four speakers, and a manual A/C.

Under the hood, you get a 2.8-turbo diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. It produces 148 horses and 360Nm of torque.

Safety-wise, the budget-friendly base model pickup truck gets ABS with EBD, reverse sensors, a rear camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, and an immobilizer.

Maxus is offering the T60 in three variants: the Maxus T60 MT 2.8 Pro 4x2, Maxus T60 AT 2.8 Pro 4x2, and the Maxus T60 AT Pro 4x4. They are priced at P998,000, P1,078,000, and P1,328,000, respectively.

Toyota Hilux (E 2.4 4x2 MT, G 2.4 J 4X2 MT, and G 2.4 4x2 AT)

Toyota’s lineup of Hilux pickup trucks covers a wide range of price points. However, the lower trims (E 2.4 4x2 MT, G 2.4 J 4X2 MT, and G 2.4 4x2 AT) do fall in the same price category as the Maxus T60.

The aforementioned versions of the pickup truck sport multi-reflector halogen headlamps, halogen rear combination lamps, power adjust outside rearview mirrors, and intermittent windshield wipers.

Inside are fabric seats, a urethane steering wheel, an eight-inch audio system, four speakers, and manual or dual-zone automatic climate control A/Cs (depending on the variant).

Power comes from a 2.4-liter mill mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The powertrain setup generates 148 horses and 400Nm of torque.

In terms of safety, you get ABS, an immobilizer, SRS airbags, and three-point seatbelts.S with brake assist and EBD, vehicle stability control (VSC), hill-start assist control (HSA), a reverse camera, and a clearance and back sonar (G variants).

The E 2.4 4x2 MT is priced at P1,135,000, while the G 2.4 J 4X2 MT is priced at P1,250,000, and G 2.4 4x2 AT at P1,325,000.

Isuzu D-Max (excluding the 3.0 4X4 LS-E AT, 3.0 4X4 LS MT, and 3.0 4X2 LS-A AT models)

Like the Hilux from Toyota, the Isuzu D-Max also has a lot of variants to offer. In fact, five variants fall under the Maxus T60’s price point.

These pickup trucks feature multi-reflector halogen headlamps, halogen fog lamps (on select trims), power or manual adjust sideview mirrors (depending on the variant), multi-reflector rear combination lamps, and a bed liner.

Inside, you can either get a 3.5-inch monochrome or a 4.2-inch electroluminescent instrument cluster. It can also come with either a single-DIN audio head with two speakers or a 10.1-inch full touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers.

Available engine options include a 1.9-liter and a 3.0-liter diesel engine which can either be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with sequential shift.

Those concerned with safety will find features like a brake override system, ABS, EBD, brake assist, as well as electronic stability control, traction control system, hill-start assist, and hill descent control among others.
