Mazda Philippines will officially unveil a new offering — and it's widely anticipated to be the latest version of the BT-50
Bermaz Auto Philippines has sent an invite recently for a November 17 event, which showed the familiar grille and headlight design — similar to the pickup offering that the Japanese premium automaker revealed globally last year.
This only means that Mazda Philippines President Steven Tan stayed true to his vow (after much anticipation from the local automotive distributor since last year) that they will be reeling in the all-new Mazda BT-50 in the latter part of 2021.
In an earlier interview, Tan expressed confidence on the timing of the model introduction, despite the all-new Isuzu D-Max (which it shared the same platform with) being out in the local market earlier than they did.
“It’s a long game,” Tan told Carmudi Philippines in an interview last February.
While it has the same platform with the Isuzu, the upcoming all-new Mazda BT-50 has notable differences that make it far highly-distinguishable from the former.
The incoming version, for one, now wears the signature Kodo-Soul of Motion design language now found in the latest Mazda models.
While Mazda Philippines did not give more details on what could be found in the sexy pickup truck, the vehicle might be fitted with a 3.0-liter diesel engine that is also found in other markets.
As for the other fitments that can be found in the vehicle, we can just wait for the official release next week.
To note, Thailand was the first in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) nations to receive the latest iteration of the BT-50.
