McLaren Speed Champions Double Pack to celebrate brand’s 60th anniversary

McLaren announced that it has again teamed up with Lego to release the McLaren Speed Champions Double Pack to celebrate the British automotive marque’s 60th anniversary.

The first-ever McLaren Speed Champions Double Pack features two of the car brand’s most iconic supercars: the McLaren F1 LM and McLaren Solus GT.

“As 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of McLaren and our founder’s passion to create the ultimate supercars, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to come together with the Lego Group and celebrate some of the iconic McLaren road cars whose designs were born of that vision,” said McLaren Automotive Chief Designer Goran Ozbolt.

Both the cars include authentic details from their real-life counterparts, including the Papaya Orange paint of the F1 LM, its central driving seat position, and cooling ducts. Likewise, the McLaren Solus GT Lego scale model also boasts details of the real vehicle such as its striking central single-seat cockpit design and high-downforce rear wing.

The McLaren Speed Champions double pack has 581 pieces with two Lego minifigure drivers in their his and hers McLaren “race suits.”

“We aim to inspire Lego vehicle fans of all ages with new and unique building experiences, every time we expand the Speed Champions Collection. This launch is another great example of this long-standing partnership,” commented Lego Group Design Manager Christopher Leslie Stamp.

The new Lego Speed Champions McLaren Solus GT and McLaren F1 LM set will be available globally from March 1, 2023.
