Electra Meccanica Solo is an Electric Vehicle that Looks Like a Sedan Cut in Half
This is the Solo, an electric vehicle (EV) developed by Canadian manufacturer Electra Meccanica. It's like a typical sedan but you'll be surprised once you see the whole composition of the Solo EV—it looks like a car that's cut in half.
Don't worry, Electra Meccanica really designed the Solo EV to look that way. It is an all-electric three-wheeler EV that's meant to transform the way humans commute. Electra Meccanica said that there are 119 million North Americans who commute using personal vehicles and 105 million of them commute alone. As such, the company thought of designing an EV that caters to every 'solo' commuter and at the same time reduce the commuters environmental impact. With that, the Solo EV was born.
This EV is equipped with a 17.3 kWh Lithium Ion battery pack that powers Solo EV to deliver up to 82 hp and a top speed of over 130 kph. Electra Meccanica claims the Solo EV can go from 0 to 100 kph in eight seconds and has a 160 km range. In addition, it has a three hour charging time (220V).
As a three-wheeler EV, the Solo can accommodate only one person--that's why it's called Solo for obvious reasons. This EV also comes with LCD digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth audio, rear-view camera, and LED headlights.
