Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance subsidiary, Mercedes-AMG, announced that it has given the United States (US)-market 2024 GLE sport utility vehicle (SUV) and GLE Coupe some major upgrades.
The most notable of the said updates are the software update and the larger turbocharger bestowed to the abovementioned models. Through the said improvements, the AMG development team increased the maximum torque from 520Nm to 560Nm.
Furthermore, the engine now responds to driving commands with extra spontaneity and added agility.
Noticeable on the 2024 GLE 53 models are their new exterior appointments, which include the revised front fascia with expressively shaped side air intakes in an inspired jet‑wing design. Also new to the GLE SUV and the GLE Coupe are their newly designed LED daytime running lights.
Further, the front fascia now also bears the AMG emblem on the front hood of the vehicle, which is the new hallmark for all future AMG vehicles.
The new lights at their fore reflected by LED tail lamps, which Mercedes-AMG said were also revised.
Per Mercedes-AMG, the 2024 GLE 63 S Coupe now rides on 22‑inch forged wheels with a ten‑twin‑spoke design as standard.
Inside, the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLE SUV and GLE Coupe get AMG leather seats. They can be optioned in Bahia Brown/Black and Macchiato Beige/Black, per the German automotive brand. Additionally, trim elements in High-Gloss Brown Linden Wood or Manufaktur Piano Black Flowing Lines are now also available.
The new 2024 Mercedes‑AMG GLE models also benefit from the latest generation of MBUX. The AMG-specific screen design makes the brand experience even more immediate.
Mercedes-AMG also bolstered the standard equipment offered in both the 2024 GLE SUV and GLE Coupe. Prior to the upgrade, the GLE 53 models already boast some decent amenities as standard. An electric panoramic sliding sunroof, heated front seats, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, and Burmester surround sound system were among them.
Now, they come with the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system, MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation, Memory Package, Parking Assistance Package, and leather upholstery, which is complimented with newly standard heated and ventilated front seats.
The latest AMG Performance steering wheel is also standard across the model range. The round AMG Drive Unit buttons impress with their brilliant displays and intuitive operating logic. The steering wheel can be heated as an option and is also available with a carbon fiber design.
GLE 63 S SUV and GLE 63 S Coupe customers also enjoy the benefits of the newly standard Air Balance Package, multi‑contour front seats, and head‑up display. Additional standard features include MBUX Interior Assistant and logo projector with AMG-specific animation when the front doors are opened.
The US-spec Mercedes-AMG 2024 GLE SUV and GLE Coupe will arrive in US dealerships within the year.
