Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the special and limited Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” for the European market.
The sleek and sexy Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” is said to highlight the exceptional status of the performance off-roader, which has been part of the legendary off-road family’s portfolio since 2002.
“The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is now also undoubtedly regarded as an automotive icon and demonstrates its unique position among performance off-road vehicles partly through its powerful drive, the AMG Ride Control suspension, and the AMG-specific driving programs. The exclusive interior and extensive equipment further underscore the singular and special nature of this strong-spirited SUV (sport utility vehicle). With the expressive and limited Grand Edition, we are celebrating the success story of the G 63, which is far from over,” commented Mercedes-AMG Chief Executive Officer and Head of Top End Vehicle Group Michael Schiebe.
Outside, the European-market Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” sports AMG logos and Mercedes-Benz stars in Kalahari Gold Magno. Likewise, the Affalterbach emblem of the performance brand located on the SUV hood is finished in the same hue.
Further, the inlays in the front and rear bumpers, the optical underride protection in the front, the Mercedes star in the spare wheel inlay, and the spare wheel ring are finished in a similar color.
It rides on 22-inch AMG forged wheels with a cross-spoke design in Tech Gold with a matte black central locking nut and a Mercedes star also in Tech Gold. The side graphics worn by the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” is finished in the abovementioned colors.
Those purchasing the Euro-spec Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” will also get a customized AMG Indoor Car Cover made with tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and anti-static flannel inner fabric.
Inside, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” offers a similar contrast of black and gold. For example, the seats are finished in G Manufaktur black Nappa leather with contrasting gold stitching. The backrests of the said seats also have plaques with a gold AMG logo and gold edging.
Like the seats, the roof grab handles are finished in Nappa hide. The trim piece in the inlay of the grab handle on the passenger side is carbon with copper thread and also bears a high-quality badge with the words “Grand Edition.”
The black door sill trims feature “AMG” emblems while the black floor mats come with gold stitching. Other trim parts of the interior are finished in carbon with copper thread. The AMG Performance steering wheel in microfiber features a steering wheel clasp with a G 63 plaque.
The pricing for the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” is yet to be disclosed, although the German automotive brand confirmed that only 100 samples of this luxury off-roader will be built.
