Mercedes-AMG updates 6-cylinder GT 4-door coupe

Mercedes-Benz's high-performance division, Mercedes-AMG, has upgraded the six-cylinder variants of the GT four-door coupe.

The updates come in the form of functional cosmetic appointments such as the new front apron as well as the two outer decorative air intakes and the large central air intake.

The former, Mercedes-AMG explained, is derived from the previous design of the eight-cylinder models while the latter helps emphasize the breadth of the GT four-door coupe.

In addition to giving the car a sportier, more aggressive look, these new exterior appliques help direct the air specifically to the functional elements of the Mercedes-AMG GT, such as coolers and brakes.

Further, Mercedes-AMG stated that the GT four-door coupe also gets a robust list of standard features, which include a power sunroof and wireless charging pads for the second-row occupants.

Moreover, Mercedes-AMG also gave the Mercedes-Benz User Experience a minor update that endows the digital infotainment system a new look, redesigned AMG-specific displays, and individually configurable functions.

Optional add-ons are still available for the nameplate including the V8 Styling Package adds a new front apron, longitudinal member panels, and a rear apron with a diffuser.

Those opting for a more luxurious look can choose the Chrome Package for the six-cylinder Mercedes-AMG GT four-door coupe. The package adds features like a high-gloss chrome front splitter.

Meanwhile, the available Carbon Fiber Package turns the front splitter into one made with lighter carbon fiber material.

Additionally, Mercedes-AMG gave the GT four-door coupe new shades in the form of Opalite White Metallic paint.
